Woman Fellowship

Proverbs 31:17 says-” She girds herself with strength and strengthens her arms.” So are the members of the Women’s Fellowship who are strong in the LORD and committed stewards of the Church.

Just as a family is held together with the presence of a woman, so also the role of Women’s Fellowship is unparalleled in the growth and development of the Church. The Fellowship aims at empowerment of women in all the fields, especially in the spiritual sector.

The Women’s Fellowship has a well planned four-fold action plan which is adhered to and followed stringently.

1.Spiritual Activities

2. Girl child Project

3. Community Out-reach Programmes

4. Resource Mobilization

  1. Spiritual Activities

Women’s Fellowship has its regular meeting every Saturday at 5 p.m either at the church or at a home that has requested and invited them for prayer. Each member gets a chance to lead the service and to share the word of God. Thus providing a fine platform to gain leadership qualities.

Bible quizzes, Bible based activities like dumb charades, essay writing competitions and regular Bible study is conducted.

World Prayer Day is celebrated on 8th March to mark International Women’s Day and Women’s Sunday is celebrated on September 11th every year.

Each year, One day Retreat is organised for the benefit of all the women in the congregation and renowned lady speakers from different places are invited as guest speakers for the occasion.

Every Friday, the members of the Women’s Fellowship gather together for fasting prayer. No effort is spared when it comes to the spiritual enhancement of the women of the Church

  1. Girl child Project

With a vision to protect the girl child and provide a healthy environment for her growth and nurture, the Women’s Fellowship started a unique project called Prerana in the year….

Contributions pooled by the members of the fellowship and that collected from the members of Hebich Memorial Church, gives life giving blood to this project..

The Fellowship has till date supported girls from financially weak background to complete their computer course, non-formal nursing and even General Nursing.

The proposal for the year 2015is to support one girl for General Nursing and another girl for PUC.

  1. Community Out-reach Programmes (Social concerns)

  1. Prison ministry- on the world Day of prayer and other days, members of the fellowship visit the central jail wherein they present a small program for the inmates, share the word of God and distribute gifts and sweets.
Since Christmas is the festival of joy and giving, the members of the Fellowship celebrate Christmas in the prisons, distributing sweets and sarees. The members put up a fine skit and entertained the inmates with beautiful songs.
Every Thursday, a group of Women visit the prison, the women wing for prayer and counselling.

  1. Slum ministry- members of the fellowship visit slums and distribute sweets and towels along with the sharing of the word of God.

  1. HIV / AIDS – regular distribution of food grains to 15 HIV/AIDS patients is a project undertaken by this fellowship. This project is sponsored by Women’s Fellowship of KND and is known as Spandana HIV/AIDS Project.

4. Resource Mobilization

The fellowship has its ingenious means for generating funds for the proposed projects. Recourses are mobilized through the sale of breakfast to the congregation after Sunday service, sale of home-made sweets and savories, hand-made bags, handkerchiefs, papads, pickles and karindi. The amount thus collected is used for the Girl child project.

Every year, during the Harvest festival, the Fellowship puts up a stall for the sale of freshly made hot vadas, mirchis and tea. The collected money is given for Church development.
